Sandalwood |
| (Santalum album) |
| Our plantation-grown oil is derived from the heartwood and roots, giving it a warm, rich woody aroma that outdistances Mysore Sandalwood. Scientists believe that Indonesia was, in fact, the original source of Sandalwood which was later imported to India. As an ecological concern, be wary of Sandalwood imported from third-world countries labeled as 'wildcrafted'; this usually indicates that the oil has been rampantly foraged from wilderness land and does great damage to the wildlife by robbing the land of its natural resources. Traditionally used for acne, dry/chapped skin, depression, insomnia, nervous tension and stress, perfumes. Reputed to be antidepressant, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, astringent, bactericidal, carminative, fungicidal, insecticidal, and sedative. DISCLAIMER: Purchase of this item affirms that customer accepts all responsibilty for proper and appropriate use of essential oils. For use in skin preparations only.
